Coast Guard intercepts Cuban migrants

HIGHLAND BEACH, Fla. – The U.S. Coast Guard on Thursday intercepted a makeshift boat off the coast of Highland Beach in Palm Beach County with nine Cuban migrants onboard.

The dingy appeared to be made of an old mattress. Two homemade pontoons were found floating nearby.

The nine migrants were transferred to the Coast Guard's cutter Dolphin, and will likely be returned to Cuba.
