PLANTATION, Fla. – Two people were displaced Wednesday night after a house fire in Plantation.
The fire began about 8 p.m. at a home on Southwest 18th Street.
The Plantation Fire Department said neighbors called 911 when they saw smoke coming from the home.
When firefighters arrived at the home, authorities said the entire cul-de-sac was laden with thick, heavy smoke, causing several residents to leave their homes.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in about 15 minutes; however, officials said the home was uninhabitable.
The Red Cross was called to provide shelter for the two residents. Authorities said other residents were able to return to their homes within the hour.
There were no injuries. It's unclear what caused the fire.
