PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – The United States men's national team moved up six spots to 13th in the FIFA rankings.
According to ESPN's Paul Carr, it's the highest the U.S. has been ranked since Oct. 2009.

On Tuesday, the U.S. clinched its spot in the 2014 World Cup with a 2-0 win against Mexico.
The U.S. won 12 straight matches over the summer, including the CONCACAF Gold Cup and a come-from-behind friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina in Sarajevo.
The U.S. has two World Cup qualifiers remaining: home against Jamaica on Oct. 11 and at Panama on Oct. 15.
