Coach of winless Western High walks out

Team lost first four games by combined score of 114-3

DAVIE, Fla. – The football coach of winless Western High School has walked out, just days before a game against one of the best teams in Broward County.

Broward Schools confirmed that Derek Segaloff resigned on Thursday.

Assistant Coach Jermaine Hollis will take over for Segaloff as head coach of the Wildcats.

Western has been outscored 114-3 in its four losses this season.

They opened the season with a 45-0 loss to Cardinal Gibbons, then lost to South Plantation 20-3, then lost to Monarch 19-0 and finally to Everglades 30-0.

Western principal Jimmy Arrojo said, "the Western High School varsity football team is looking forward to this Friday's game against Miramar and a successful continuation of the season."

Miramar is the fourth-ranked team in Florida so the Wildcats are up against it.
