MIAMI – An off-duty Miami police officer was taken to Ryder Trauma Center after he was injured in a crash on 79th Street Friday morning.
According to police, the officer's silver Taurus collided with another vehicle at 37th Avenue.

The officer was reportedly slipping in and out of consciousness, but was able to call for help on his radio after the crash.
The driver of the other car stayed at the scene.
Meanwhile, at around 6:15 a.m., another officer was involved in a crash on Flagler Street and 22nd Avenue.
Police say the officer is OK, but the driver of the other vehicle was complaining of chest pains.
