Woman, child injured in Boca Raton shooting

Shooter shot, killed self


BOCA RATON, Fla. – One man is dead and two were injured during a shooting in the 8,000 block of Via Di Veneto in Boca Raton at approximately 7 p.m. Friday.

Officials say the shooting may have started as a domestic disturbance between a man and a woman, which resulted in the female being shot in the leg.

When SWAT arrived, they entered the residence and found the shooter dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police say one of two children who were in the home at the time of the shooting was able to escape unharmed.

The woman and a child were transported to Delray Medical Center. They are both expected to survive.
