Man arrested after stabbing another man at Fort Lauderdale motel

Victim taken to hospital in critical condition

FORT LAUDERDALE – A man was arrested after police say he stabbed another man at a motel in Fort Lauderdale.

It happened at Sky Motel at 1531 West State Road 84 around 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say Ricardo Ramirez, 32, thought that his wife was having an affair 34-year-old Christopher Nardi, and he suspected that she was inside Nardi's hotel room.

Officials say when Ramirez opened the door to the hotel room, he found his wife inside.

That's when the men began to fight.

During the argument, Nardi was stabbed once and he ran down the hall to get away from Ramirez.

Ramirez then chased Nardi and when he caught up to him, he stabbed him several times.

At some point, Ramirez got into his car and fled the scene.

Police were able to arrest Ramirez after witnesses provided a description of Ramirez and his vehicle.

Nardi was taken to Broward Health Medical Center for multiple stab wounds and is currently listed in critical condition.

Ramirez was charged with 1 count of premeditated murder attempt, resisting an officer without violence, and of possession of cocaine.
