Police find hydroponics lab in Miami-Dade home

3 arrested

MIAMI – Three people were arrested after police found a hydroponics lab inside a S.W. Miami-Dade County home.

According to investigators, at around 10:50 p.m. on Jan. 23rd, detectives approached a vehicle that was stopped outside 30121 S.W. 147th Court. Detectives say a strong odor of marijuana was coming from inside the car, and they also saw several bags which they believed were filled with marijuana.

The car's driver exited the vehicle and made contact with the homeowner. Detectives then obtained written consent from the homeowner to search the residence.

Once inside, detectives found an open hatch in one of the rooms that provided access to an underground crawl space. There they found a fully operational hydroponics lab with approximately 82 live marijuana plants at the base of a concrete pool, which was sealed by a concrete slab. The marijuana plants were accessible through the crawl space located inside the bedroom leading to the pool.

Police arrested Valexy Quintero-Consuegra, 37, Marley Torres-Denis, 27, and Eddy Pelaez-Ramirez, 44.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact CrimeStoppers 305-471-TIPS (8477).
