East Coast storm causes numerous So Fla flight cancellations, delays

Numerous cancellations, delays reported at FLL, MIA

MIAMI – More than 100 flights were either canceled or delayed Wednesday because of weather along the East Coast, airport officials said.

At Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, 144 cancellations were reported Thursday evening.

A total of 138 delays were also reported at FLL as a result of the storm, with delays up to six hours.

Miami International Airport experienced 126 canceled flights and 13 delayed arrivals as of 9 p.m. Thursday also because of the weather.

Officials said cities affected by Thursday night's cancellations and delays at MIA and FLL include Boston, Charlotte, Charleston, New York (both airports), Hartford, Philadelphia, Atlantic City, Long Island, Albany, Cleveland, White Plains, Grand Rapids, Baltimore, Washington, D.C. (both airports), Birmingham, Providence, Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Raleigh/Durham, Myrtle Beach, Newark, Greensboro and Richmond.
