MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are investigating after skeletal remains of a man were found in a wooded area of Monroe County Monday.
The body, which has been turned over to the Medical Examiner, was found about 10 feet into the wooded area across from Gerald Adams School.
Detectives have not said what they believe to be the cause of death, but the body had no obvious signs of foul play upon initial examination.
Police found a bag with belongings and identification in it close by, but until further investigation, it is unknown whether the man found is the same person as depicted on the license.
Police said the body could have been in the wooded area for months.
