LeBron 'Mt. Rushmore' comment given context
"I'm going to be one of the top four to play this game"
MIAMI – LeBron James' much talked about interview with NBA TV aired on Monday night.
LeBron was asked by Steve Smith who would be on the NBA's Mount Rushmore as the greatest of all-time.
LeBron's original answer was Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Oscar Robertson.
Then, LeBron was pushed about his own legacy.
LeBron said, "I'm going to be one of the top four to play this game, for sure. And if they don't want me to have one of those four spots, they'd better find another place. "
Smith responded, "Now, there's only four."
LeBron answered, " Then we have to bump somebody, somebody's got to get bumped."
Smith asked, "Who are you bumping?"
LeBron replied, "That's not for me to decide. That's for the architects. That's for the architects to chisel somebody's face out and put mine up there."
