FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The Tortuga Music Festival will wrap up Sunday in Fort Lauderdale for the second year of the festival.
The main stage is at least half as big as the Yankee clipper behind it. More than two dozen musical acts -- most of them top country stars -- will play Saturday and Sunday, and this year organizers expect an even bigger crowd.

"Last year we were about 25,000 for the weekend. This year we are expecting about 40,000 for the weekend," said festival co-founder A.J. Niland. "There are still going to be some tickets available at the box office day of."
The festival takes up such a huge span of Fort Lauderdale Beach that organizers had to put in a sign post directing people to the three different stages, first aid, bars and concession stands.
Last year the festival raised over $70,000 for marine conservation causes and organizers hope to eclipse that number this year. There are lots of interactive educational displays and vendors at the site.
Niland thinks they've been successful for several reasons. While your toes are in the sand and you bask in the sun, top stars like Luke Bryan, Eric Church and Sheryl Crow will have you dancing all day long.
"You can't really beat this atmosphere. It is great talent. It is on the beach here in Fort Lauderdale and there is a purpose to the party," said Niland.
Festivalgoers are urged to arrive early. There is free parking at the Galleria Mall, but you will have to pay for the shuttle.
Niland provided three tips to have a good time.
"Stay hydrated, wear sunscreen and bring a smile," said Niland.
