Musician Cheo Feliciano killed in car crash

Singer lost control of his Jaguar, according to reports

CUPEY, Puerto Rico – Salsa and bolero singer Jose "Cheo" Feliciano died early Thursday after he was involved in a car crash in Puerto Rico. He was 78.

According to multiple reports, Feliciano lost control of his Jaguar around 4:15 a.m. on a highway in Cupey. He was not wearing a seat belt. 

Best known as Cheo Feliciano, the musician had a musical career dating back to the 1950s. According to his son, he was scheduled to leave for Mexico on Friday for a performance. 

Fans expressed their sadness over his death on his official Facebook page Thursday.
