'This Week in South Florida' expands to 1 hour
Local 10 veteran Glenna Milberg to join senior political reporter Michael Putney
PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – South Florida's premiere public affairs show is now a full hour.
Putney has moderated a half-hour version of the Sunday morning program since its inception in 1990.
"Expanding to an hour has been a longtime dream of mine, as has adding a free-wheeling roundtable discussion," Putney said. "From now on we'll have that -- and the one and only Glenna Milberg."
Putney will now be joined by the veteran Local 10 reporter.
"I'm so excited and so honored to become a regular part of our go-to source of information for South Florida issues, politics and events," Milberg said. "Working with Michael has been a highlight of my South Florida news career; he's the consummate newsman and a great friend. Viewers should know we have some great things planned for the program, plus a little fun along the way."
Bert Medina, WPLG's vice president and general manager, said the expansion of the show "is another step in our efforts to serve our community with the most credible news and information. WPLG has been the news leader in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale market for a generation, and this expansion and the recent addition of our 4 p.m. newscast are consistent with our mission to serve our community."
