Police called to Miami-Dade County house after shots fired

Police: Gunman fires several shots at man who was walking down street

MIAMI – Police are investigating after several shots were fired at a 20-year-old man Thursday afternoon in northwest Miami-Dade County.

The incident happened about 3:45 p.m. at a home at 1814 NW 93rd St.

Miami-Dade police said the man was walking down the street when he was confronted by another man and got into a verbal argument with him.

The other man then entered the home, came back outside with a gun and fired several shots at the victim, police said.

When police arrived, multiple people were seen inside the home and refused to come out. Police said a special response team and hostage negotiators were then notified and arrived at the scene.

Those inside the home eventually surrendered and were detained for questioning. Police did a safety sweep after the group was taken in.

Police said the gunman remains at large.
