3 inside stolen car arrested after fleeing deputies in Oakland Park

BSO: 1 arrestee broke into home trying to hide from deputies

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – Three people discovered riding inside a stolen vehicle were arrested Friday after fleeing from deputies.

A deputy followed a vehicle acting suspiciously Friday afternoon when it took off on NW 38th Street from Powerline Road, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The vehicle stopped at 300 NW 38th St. and the people inside got out and ran. Deputies said one of them was taken into custody. Another person was taken into custody after breaking into a house trying to hide from deputies.

The third person was found hiding near the corner of 38th Street and North Andrews Avenue and was also taken into custody, deputies said.

Two of the arrestees were found by K-9 deputies. A large perimeter was set up in the neighborhood of Lloyd Estates for two hours with deputies, detectives, K-9 deputies and BSO's helicopter.

The three arrested were charged with stolen vehicle, burglary residence and several other criminal charges, according to BSO.
