Investigators claim Miami-Dade County clinic owner staged wrecks to bilk insurance

MIAMI – A South Florida woman has been arrested on charges of insurance fraud.

Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater announced the arrest of Aurora Hernandez on Thursday.

State investigators claim Hernandez was organizing staged automobile wrecks and billed for phony personal injury protection claims.

Hernandez, who operated Magic Hands Medical Services, is the latest suspect arrested in Operation No-Med Services dating to last May.

The operation targeted four accident clinics in Miami-Dade County. A doctor, two clinic owners and five medical licensees were among those arrested.

Authorities said they are also looking for Ricardo Jimenez, the owner of two defunct Miami-Dade County clinics.
