OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – A pedestrian was killed Friday evening after stepping into traffic in the 2300 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard in Oakland Park.
Deputies said Fredricka Montfleury, 27, was attempting to cross the road when a black Nissan Altima, driven by Jessica Bendall, 23, struck her.

Montfleury was transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Bendall was treated for minor injuries at Broward Health Medical Center as well, but was released immediately after.
