Stretch of Alligator Alley reopens after brush fire closure

I-75 reopens after being closed in both directions in Collier County

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – A large stretch of Alligator Alley reopened Tuesday evening after being closed because of a brush fire in Collier County.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the stretch of Interstate 75 known as Alligator Alley closed from mile marker 80 to 101 in both directions Tuesday afternoon.

About 200 acres burned as of 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The highway reopened before 6:30 p.m. after being closed for about five hours.
