MIAMI – Bomb-sniffing dogs will greet Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs fans at the service and security entrance of the AmericanAirlines Arena, as the NBA stepped up security for the NBA Finals.
Meanwhile dozens of volunteers from the rafters to the floor folded souvenirs for lucky fans who have a ticket for Thursday night's game. Every seat inside the arena is draped with a free T-shirt for the fans that says "Larry loves Miami."
Down on the court, the team from Metro Signs put fresh new graphics on every bit of signage on or around the court, plus all TV cameras in the arena got mounted or tweaked Thursday.
"Collectively I would say from a media or broadcast perspective, there are over 400 people," said Eddie Okuno, operations manager for ABC/ESPN. "It takes a small army to cover this game and no detail is left to chance."
