San Antonio takes 3-1 series lead after 107-86 victory

MIAMI – The San Antonio Spurs dominated the Miami Heat in Game 4 of the NBA Finals with a 107-86 victory Thursday night at the AmericanAirlines Arena.

San Antonio is just one win away from dethroning the two-time defending champions from South Florida. What's more, the Spurs won convincingly in both games on the Heat's home court.

Heat star LeBron James led the team with 28 points, but it wasn't nearly enough to overcome the seemingly unstoppable San Antonio offense.

Miami's Dwyane Wade was just 3 for 13 for 10 points as the Heat were routed at home for the second straight game.

Going into Game 3, the Heat had not lost at home in the playoffs this season.

Miami had history on its side after being routed by the Spurs in Game 3 last year and then rallying to win Game 4 and ultimately the series.

Now, the Heat have a tall task ahead of them to become the first team since the Los Angeles Lakers to win three consecutive world championships.

No team has ever come back from a 3-1 deficit to win the NBA Finals.

The Spurs dominated Miami in the second quarter en route to a 19-point halftime lead.

San Antonio went into the locker room at halftime with a comfortable 55-36 lead.

Miami couldn't muster a second-half rally, and the Heat trailed by as much as 25 in the fourth quarter.

This was Miami's first postseason loss since 2012.

The Spurs now return home with a chance to dethrone the Heat in San Antonio on Sunday night.
