Broward Sheriff's Office deputies previously arrested Tyrell Cobbin, 24, after he was found hiding at a friend's house the Friday following the shooting.

The shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. March 19 as Simmons played dominoes with his friends in front of his house, deputies said.

Witnesses told detectives a vehicle pulled up and the occupants opened fire almost immediately while demanding money that was supposedly owed.

Deputies said Simmons and another man were shot.

Both men face two counts of attempted murder and remain in custody.
