Robbers flee from Pompano Beach Subway after leaving mess, firing bullet

BSO: Robbers order those inside restaurant into bathroom

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Two armed robbers cleaned out a Subway restaurant in Pompano Beach but left a mess behind, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

One of the robbers walked into the restaurant after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and approached customers at a table while the other robber walked toward the back of the restaurant, deputies said.

The two robbers ordered the victims into the bathroom, ushered them down the hallway and then turned around to search for the money.

One robber began to leave the store while the other reached over the counter and grabbed the register. As he pulled and yanked the register, he dropped the money drawer and accidentally fired off a bullet, deputies said. The two fled on foot.

The store employee locked the door to the back room and hid while the robbery took place. According to BSO, no one was hurt.

Anyone who recognizes the robbers or has information about the robbery is asked to call BSO Robbery Detective Theophilus Woulard at 954-321-4270 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477). Deputies said a reward of up to $3,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
