Man arrested in armored truck robbery in Miami

Daniel Ochoa, 24, accused in Aug. 15 incident

MIAMI – The FBI arrested a man Friday morning in connection with the robbery of an armored truck in Miami.

Daniel Ochoa, 24, is facing multiple federal charges in the robbery and shooting that happened Aug. 15 outside Check Cashing USA at 2905 NW 27th Ave.

Police said a 72-year-old Brinks guard was pushed to the ground and shot in the leg by Ochoa during the robbery.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken.

The FBI is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to additional arrests in this case. They believe at least one other person is involved, and may have drove the getaway car. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 305-944-9101.
