Father of missing woman found dead: 'The world has lost an angel'

Ramon Gonzalez says his biggest fear came true after daughter found in trunk of car

MIAMI – The father of a woman whose remains were found in the trunk of a car after she'd been reported missing spoke to Local 10 News about his daughter.

"My first kid was Tanya -- a girl. And I was there in the delivery (room)," Ramon Gonzalez said.

Gonzalez spoke about the blessing in his life -- his daughter, Tanya Gonzalez, the eldest of his five children, whom he said blossomed into a beautiful woman, who brought joy and laughter to everyone around her.

"(She was) caring, concerned, a great listener," Ramon Gonzalez said.

But Gonzalez's father said he believes it was her kindness that likely cost her her life -- at the hands of her former boyfriend, Roy Blanco, jealous after finding out she was dating again.

"That's the weakness that was so obvious in her that this monster took over my daughter," Ramon Gonzalez said. "Every time they broke up, he would come back begging, crying. He was totally obsessed."

Ramon Gonzalez recalled the moment he was told his daughter was missing -- an emotion and feeling he said he doesn't wish on anyone.

"Knowing the situation that she just had left, I said, 'My biggest fear has just come true,'" Ramon Gonzalez said.

Tragically, he was right. When police opened the trunk of his daughter's car, they found her remains.

"(She was) such a great person (and) didn't need to meet this kind of end," Ramon Gonzalez said. "The world has lost an angel."
