Groundskeeper struck by lightning at Riviera Country Club in Coral Gables

Victim taken to Kendall Regional Hospital

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A 56-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after he was struck by lightning early Tuesday morning.

According to Coral Gables Fire Rescue, a groundskeeper was struck by a bolt of lightning about 7:45 a.m. at the Riviera Country Club.

Paramedics found the man unconscious and in cardiac arrest. They were able to restore the man's pulse within minutes.

The man was taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center, where firefighters said he was regaining consciousness.
