Family asks public for help in identifying loved one's killer

Emory Alexander, 19, shot, killed in Miami on Sept. 14

The family of 19-year-old Emory Alexander is asking the public for help in finding his killer.

Alexander was shot and left to die on a Miami sidewalk in the 1400 block of Northwest 43rd Street on Sept. 14.

More than a week has gone by and so far, not a single tip has come into police about who his killer may be. Any forensics left behind at the scene isn't helping either. This is why Alexander's family came to Miami police headquarters Tuesday to reach out to the public and ask for help in finding the person who killed their son, nephew and grandson.

"You got a killer running around the streets and somebody out there knows something -- make that phone call," said Alexander's grandfather, Harold Alexander.

Alexander also leaves behind a girlfriend he's been with for three years and their 10-month-old daughter, Kimora.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
