MIAMI – A 33-year-old man who stabbed his girlfriend multiple times while she was sleeping is being sought, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.

Investigators said the incident happened at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday when Jorge Borda entered his girlfriend's home in the area of SW 166th Street and SW 149th Place.

Borda then fled to the area of SW 104th Street and SW 108th Avenue, where he is known to frequent, police said.

The 21-year-old victim was taken to a local hospital, where she is listed in stable condition.

The following day, Borda was involved in a hit-and-run accident where he assaulted the driver of the other vehicle, unrelated to the attempted murder case, according to Miami-Dade police.
