Principal joins student in cat yearbook photo

Draven Rodriguez had attempted to use cat pic in school yearbook

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – How does a student create something more awesome than a picture with him, his cat and laser beams?

Easy. Just add the school's principal.

Draven Rodriguez gained notoriety in early September after his original yearbook photo submission was denied by the school.

Officials at Schenectady (N.Y.) High School apparently didn't appreciate the creative beauty of Rodriguez appearing with his cat Mr. Bugglesworth while the two were surrounded by laser beams.

Despite an online petition that gathered support from around the country, school administrators would not budge.

But according to BuzzFeed, a compromise was reached that is truly proving to be the cat's meow.

Joining Rodriguez in a new photo is school principal Diane Wilkinson and her pet chihuahua Vivienne.

And, of course, laser beams.

While the picture won't be used as Rodriguez' official senior photo, BuzzFeed says it will be featured in the yearbook to raise awareness for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
