Gas station robber strikes twice in Miami-Dade County

2 Shell gas stations robbed in Aug., Sept.

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police are searching for a man who robbed two gas stations in Miami-Dade County in recent months.

The first robbery occurred Aug. 14 at about 5:30 p.m. at the Shell gas station at 6690 W. Flagler Street. The second robbery happened Sept. 14 at about 6:30 p.m. at the Shell gas station at 3601 Biscayne Blvd.

Eduardo Hernandez told Local 10 News that he was closing the shades when the robber came inside.

"When I turned around there he was," said Hernandez. "He grabbed me by my shirt and he said 'Don't you move. Don't do it.'"

In both cases, the robber covered his head with a clothing item and threatened the clerk with a semi-automatic pistol. He left with money from the registers at both gas stations.

Police describe the robber as a black man, about 6 feet tall who weighs 170 to 180 pounds. In both crimes he fled the scene in a black BMW, possibly a 7 series, with tinted windows.

"We know he is possibly involved in other cases," said Sgt. Freddie Cruz. "At any given moment he could pull that trigger and take someone's life."
