Former Macy's employee accused of robbing Miami Beach store 3 times

Police: Travis Holmes, 2 others used access code to break into store

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. ā€“ A former Macy's employee and two others are charged with burglarizing the department store in Miami Beach three times, with the most recent incident occurring Thursday morning.

Surveillance video shows 30-year-old Travis Holmes and 25-year-old Caudrey Mack walk in through the back entrance of the store at about 6 a.m.Ā

The loss prevention manager tried stopping the men, and said Holmes threw him to the ground as the two men ran away.

Police said the manager saw Holmes and Mack run off on foot and also spotted a white Nissan Maxima drive away.

The men were captured by police nearby. Officers said both admitted to breaking into the Macy's three times. Police said Holmes confessed to entering the store using an access code he was given while he worked there.

Officers said Holmes told them, "I'm sorry. I used to work for Macy's, so I use the codes to get in. I know that my friend Mack and I shouldn't have going in there."

Holmes' girlfriend, 25-year-old Anterika Simmons was also found nearby inside the Maxima in an empty parking lot. Police said Simmons also admitted to being involved in the three burglaries.
