Heat fans line up early for team gear giveaway ahead of regular season

Miami Heat face Washington Wizards Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

MIAMI ā€“ The Miami Heat got fans prepared for the start of the season with basketball enthusiasts lining up at the AmericanAirlines Arena as early as 4:30 a.m. Monday to get their free Heat gear.

"I'm really excited about the season," said Miami fan Krizia Torres. "I can't wait -- so excited for the new team. Go Heat!"

The regular season tips off Wednesday, and with the help of Bernie, the Heat dancers and the Extreme Team, Heat fans got their cars pimped out with the new Heat season decal. And even though some fans knew they were risking arriving to work or school late, getting their decal was a priority.

"Even if I'm late to work I don't care," said Heat fan, Elloy Duque. "I have to get my decal, it's very important; I have to support our team."

The new season is looking good so far for the Heat, as they won their last four games in the preseason, including Friday night's 104-98 win against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Heat face the Washington Wizards in the first game of the regular season. Tip time is 7:30 p.m. at the AmericanAirlines Arena.
