"It means a lot to us. We work really hard making high-end family fishing boats for the market," said Robert Dougherty, vice president of operations for Everglades Boats. "It's a big part of our sales for the rest of the season."

The boat show kicks off Thursday with a prime-time preview. The six locations across Fort Lauderdale are open to the public Friday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tickets for the prime time preview begin at $38. General admission for the rest of the weekend costs $22 for adults ($24 at the door) and $7 ($9 at the door) for children between the ages of 6-15. Children under age 6 are free. Two day tickets begin at $40.
