Three families escape flames in Coral Springs

Fire leaves 10 people homeless

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Firefighters arrived just in time, after a father saved his family from a fire in Coral Springs Wednesday morning.

About 6:48 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire at an apartment complex, 11566 Royal Palm Blvd., near Coral Ridge Drive.

The flames destroyed a second-floor apartment. Firefighters also rescued a dog and a cat from a neighbor's apartment.

Local American Red Cross volunteers were helping three families of four adults and six children find a place to stay, food and clothing, Red Cross said in a statement.
