Man in custody after shooting wife in front of children

Donald Strange found in Georgia, wife died overnight

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A woman has died and her husband is in custody after he allegedly shot her in front of their two children.

Authorities announced early Wednesday morning Donald Edward Strange had been found in Georgia. They said he went to a family member's house after fleeing the scene of the shooting at 5304 NW 30th Place on Tuesday afternoon

According to Miami-Dade police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta, Strange's 46-year-old wife died from the injuries sustained from being shot in the chest after a verbal dispute. The couple's young children witnessed the shooting and called police.

Strange will be brought back to Miami-Dade County through the extradition process. Charges are pending. 

The victim's sister and brother were granted joint legal custody of the Strange's children -- a 13-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy. The kids are expected to live with their aunt.
