BSO: Dan Johnson, 41, offered woman ride home, sexually battered her in hotel parking lot

DANIA BEACH, Fla. – Detectives with the Broward Sheriff's Office are searching for a man on federal probation who allegedly sexually assaulted a 21-year-old female acquaintance.

Detectives say Dan Johnson, 41, offered the victim a ride home from work, but instead drove her to a Dania Beach hotel.

The woman told deputies that when she realized he was going in the wrong direction, she demanded he take her home. She claims Johnson threatened to choke her if she screamed and said he would hurt her and her family members if she called law enforcement.

Deputies say Johnson sexually battered the woman in the parking lot of a hotel before taking her home.

After the woman called 911, deputies showed up to a car dealership in Weston where Johnson worked but he ran from deputies before they could arrest him.

Johnson was last seen driving his 2008 silver Land Rover with Florida tag 330MKJ.

Deputies say Johnson is on federal probation for conspiracy to distribute cocaine. He has also been arrested in the past on charges of armed robbery, possession of a firearm, aggravated battery on a police officer and dealing in stolen property.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. A $3,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
