Rashid Keblawe killed before birth of daughter

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A store owner was beaten and fatally shot by two men as he was bagging their groceries on Thanksgiving morning.

Rashid Keblawe, 40, had just opened his 7 Stars convenience store in northwest Miami-Dade County when two men entered shortly before 10 a.m. and began to shop for several items, Miami-Dade police said.

As Keblawe was bagging their items, one of the men pulled out a gun and shot him.

The men then jumped over the counter and started to beat Keblawe, but he fought back, so they shot him several more times before getting away in an older model, four-door Buick.

Keblawe was pronounced dead at the scene.

Local 10 News has learned he was preparing to become a father as his wife is expecting a daughter in January.

Police released surveillance video of the shooting Monday.
