HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Two people in Hallandale Beach were shot by a man who went on an armed carjacking spree Tuesday morning.
The shooting occurred near the Riemer Insurance Group in the 200 block of Hallandale Beach Boulevard.
Police said a man and woman inside a red Chevrolet were shot.
Wilfredo Rivera told Local 10 News the man who was shot ran across the street to Hallandale Medical Center for help before collapsing inside the lobby. That man later died, Local 10 has learned.
Rivera said he could see the wounded woman lying in her seat inside the car.
Police said the gunman had been involved in two other carjackings before the shooting. Police said he then committed another carjacking, traveling north on Interstate 95 before crashing and running off.
An employee at the Riemer Insurance Group told Local 10 the woman who was shot works there. She remained at Memorial Regional Hospital, but her condition was not known.
