1 sent to hospital with gunshot wounds to leg

WEST PARK, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating a deputy-involved shooting at a lounge in West Park.

The shooting occurred in the 3900 block of Pembroke Road early Sunday morning.

BSO spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said a deputy working security detail at the lounge heard gunfire and fired his weapon.

One person was taken to a hospital with two gunshot wounds to the leg. The injuries were not life-threatening.

Concepcion said it was believed there was a fight at the lounge that led to the shooting.

It wasn't immediately known if it was the deputy's bullet that struck the person.

Deputies stopped two drivers suspected of being involved and found weapons in their vehicles.

The shooting remained under investigation.
