Tim Tebow spreads holiday cheer

Tears at Orlando store when former Gator pays layaway tabs

ORLANDO, Fla. – Former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow surprised Walmart shoppers in Orlando when he showed up to pay off their layaway tabs.

The former University of Florida Gator was filming a segment for ABC's Good Morning America Sunday. The week-long segment involves surprising shoppers using layaway at stores nationwide.

Tebow paid Jasmine Nunes $220 account. Her items included gifts for her nieces and a baby nephew, who will be celebrating his first Christmas. Nunes hugged Tebow.

"Oh my God, thank you," Nunes said in tears.

Tebow also paid Damara Jarrett's $701 layaway account tab.

Jarrett said she is a full-time student and the layaway account included gifts for her two children. Jarrett told Tebow that she was there to remove stuff from the account that she couldn't afford.

"You don't understand how hard I've been working," Jarrett said, as she thanked Tebow.
