Car found submerged in Davie canal
Investigators confirm at least 1 body in car
DAVIE, Fla. – Davie police, the Broward Sheriff's Office and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials are investigating after a car was found submerged in water in Davie.
The car was found underwater off Orange Drive and Griffin Road.
A man at the scene, who identified himself as Chuck, said he called 911 after he noticed the car in the water while traveling westbound on Griffin Road.
Members of the Davie dive team were at the scene to pull the car from the canal.
Investigators confirmed there was at least one body inside.
The body was identified as Carlos Alberto Mena. His friends said they last saw him at a New Year's party about 2:30 a.m.
