BSO spokesman Veda Coleman-Wright said the man ran off but was later apprehended. She said the man had gray paint on his hands, clothing and face.

The man gave a false name, but he was later identified from his driver's license as Frank Thorn.

Thorn, 35, also had a loaded magazine in his pocket and led deputies to where he discarded his Glock .45 pistol, Coleman-Wright said.

Thorn faces multiple charges, including criminal mischief, carrying a firearm during the commission of a felony, resisting arrest without violence and providing false identification to a law enforcement officer. He has been released from jail on $12,225 bond.
