Renardo Smith faces more than 50 counts of fraud charges

MIAMI – A man who was stopped by police for driving with illegal tint on the car's windshield had the personal information of more than 50 current and former students at Miami-Dade County Public Schools, police said.

Renardo Smith, 22, was arrested Saturday in Miami Gardens on more than 50 counts of fraud charges.

Police said officers stopped the Lexus on Northwest 183rd Street and could smell marijuana coming from the car.

According to the police report, officers didn't find any drugs in the car, but when they searched Smith and his passenger, they found lists containing more than 50 names, dates of birth and Social Security numbers.

Police said Smith admitted that the lists belonged to him.

Smith is being held on $50,000 bond.
