Body found in car in North Miami Beach

Yellow tarp covers body in front passenger's seat

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A body was found inside a car Tuesday in North Miami Beach.

The black Volkswagen Jetta was found parked in the grass on the side of Northeast 157th Street near Northeast 14th Avenue by residents.

Sky 10 was above the scene as police collected evidence.

"I'm just hoping its not bad," said Natalie St. Nattis, who lives near the scene. "I'm scared. I mean, I'm scared."

Other neighbors said they saw the car parked there since Sunday, but they only noticed a woman's body inside the vehicle Monday afternoon.

Police confirm she was found in the passenger seat. Witnesses said she had a black piece of clothing, possibly a jacket, covering her face.

A yellow tarp could be seen covering the body in the front passenger's seat.

Police towed the vehicle with the body still inside.

It was taken to the medical examiner's office.

Police could not comment on whether foul play was suspected as the investigation is in its infancy.
