Jack Seiler re-elected as Fort Lauderdale mayor for third term

Robert McKinzie picks up commissioner seat

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Jack Seiler has been re-elected as Fort Lauderdale mayor.

Seiler won a third term with 70 percent of the votes cast. However, voter turnout was very small -- about 3 percent.

The mayor is coming off a controversial few months over the city's rules on feeding the homeless.

Seiler beat out Chris Brennan and Earl Rynerson, who has already lost to Seiler twice before.

Robert McKinzie picked up a commissioner seat with nearly 59 percent of the vote.
