MIAMI – Miami police officers are looking for a man with short black hair and a gray beard who approached a group of children Wednesday to ask them if they wanted to get in his car to go get some candy.
The suspected pedophile was in a light java metallic 2006 to 2009 Nissan, Maxima. The man was wearing a white shirt and black cargo shorts.
The children, ages 13 and under, said they were walking northbound on North Miami Place from Northwest 15th Street, also known as Alvah Chapman Boulevard.
The man stopped his car on the roadway and opened his door to shout the invitation.
He never got out of his car, and when one of the kids told him he was taking out his cellphone to call his mother, he closed his door and drove northbound.
