Canadian lawmaker: My underwear is too tight

Cheap underwear leads to sudden departure

A Canadian politician is hoping he's saved the receipt for the last pack of underwear he bought.

According to The Associated Press, lawmaker Pat Martin told Parliament last week that cheap underwear led to his sudden departure, causing him to miss a vote on anti-terror legislation.

Martin said the tightness of the underwear made it difficult to sit still.

Martin is known to use humor in Parliament. He apologized amid laughter in the chamber, the AP reported. His vote ended up being counted.
