Mmmmm, what's better than a doughnut? A free doughnut.
On Tuesday, Krispy Kreme is celebrating the opening of its 1,000th store by offering one free Original Glazed doughnut to the first 1,000 guests at every participating store — no purchase necessary, according to USA Today (which adds the promotion is not available at grocery or wholesale locations.)
The 1,000th store is in Kansas City, Kansas, where the first customer in line when the store opens at 6 a.m. wins a free box of a dozen doughnuts every week for the next year and the next 99 customers win a free box of a dozen donuts every month for the next year.
In a statement, CEO Tony Thompson said "We are looking forward to sharing this joyful occasion with the millions of fans who enjoy our products in countries around the world."
