MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A Miami Gardens man was killed in an early morning crash Thursday.

The crash occurred at Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 167th Street shortly after 12:15 a.m.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Victor Abreu, 53, was traveling north of Northwest 27th Avenue when he failed to yield to the right of way and made a left turn onto Northwest 167th Street.

A Chevrolet traveling south on Northwest 27th Avenue plowed into the side of Abreu's car, sending it into a concrete pole.

The front of the car caught fire, but it was extinguished before reaching Abreu, who was still in the driver's seat.
