Police: Kobie Bermudez, 16, admitted to fatally shooting Zaid Kabar

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A 16-year-old has been arrested in the shooting death of a store clerk in Miami Gardens.

Kobie Bermudez was taken into custody Thursday following the Jan. 30 shooting.

Police said Zaid Kabar, 53, was shot and killed in front of Strawberry Grocery Store on Northwest 191st Street and 36th Avenue.

According to the arrest report, the suspect's parents agreed to a search warrant and called police when their son returned home.

Police said Bermudez confessed to the shooting and told detectives that Kabar had been bullying him.

Police said Bermudez also confessed to being high on Molly the night of the shooting and said he can't remember everything.
